BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. The volume of container cargo transshipment through the Kazakh Aktau port has significantly increased from January through October 2022 along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), Trend reports with reference to the press service of Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) company.

During the reporting period, the volume of traffic through Aktau port along the transport route amounted to 23,800 TEU containers, which is 66 percent more than in the same period of 2021.

At the same time, 3.2 million tons of cargo were handled through the Aktau seaport from January through October 2022, which is 7 percent higher than last year. Of this volume, petroleum amounted to over 1.9 million tons, and grain 385 thousand tons. The volume of container cargo transshipment increased by 17 percent, compared to the first 10 months of last year, to more than 26,400 TEU containers.

Aktau Seaport is located at the intersection of transport corridors connecting Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Russia and Türkiye.
