BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. Kazakhstan's nationa “KazMunayGas” JSC and Chevron Phillips Chemical Company, LLC will jointly build an integrated gas chemical complex in Atyrau, Trend reports, citing KazMunayGas.

The agreement on License Agreement and Design Agreement for the implementation of "Construction of an integrated gas chemical complex in the Atyrau region" project was signed by Chairman of the Board of KazMunayGas Magzum Myrzagaliev and Venki Chandrashekar, Vice President Research and Technology at Chevron Phillips.

According to the agreement, the facility will receive the relevant licensing to produce polyethylene with a total output of 625,000 tons per annum.

The negotiations with another licensor on the second polymerization unit, with a capacity of 625,000 tons of polyethylene per year, are being completed. The signing ceremony is expected to take place before mid-December 2022.

Consequently, the two technological units will have a total production capacity of 1.25 million tons. The choice of two licensors will enable the facility to produce both basic and high-grade chemical products.
