ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 8. The repair of Kazakhstan's Kentau thermal power plant (TPP) will amount to 13.7 billion Kazakh tenge ($30.9 million), with 1 billion Kazakh tenge ($2.2 million) allocated from the regional budget, Trend reports.
This was stated during the visit of Kazakhstan's Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev to the power plant to inspect the facility as part of the coordination headquarters' preparations for the heating season.
According to the Ministry of Energy, in 2023, repairs are planned for boilers No. 5, 6, 7, and 12, while boilers No. 8, 9, and 11 will undergo reconstruction with a conversion to gas burner technology. A similar scope of work is planned for boiler No. 10, with completion scheduled for 2024.
Furthermore, during the visit of the energy minister, the salary of TPP's employees was also discussed. It was noted that currently, the average salary at the enterprise amounts to 166,000 Kazakh tenge ($375.34), and the issue of increasing it to 200,000 Kazakh tenge ($452.22) is on the agenda.
