ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 11. The minister made a remark during a meeting with the Head of the Foreign Ministry of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, who is also the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.
"We are pleased to see that our trade turnover is developing with favorable dynamics. By the end of 2022, this indicator will have multiplied 5.5 times. Despite the modest volume growth, it has enormous potential. Kazakhstan is able to enhance exports, which will boost trade by $350 million, according to the ministry.
The minister also emphasized that it is intended to actively use the system of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, which was established in 2020, in order to maintain the growth rate of business relations between the nations.
"This system plays an important role and is of great importance for our relations. In this regard, we have agreed to focus our efforts on promising areas such as new technologies, energy, agriculture, mining, and tourism. Given that both countries do not have direct access to the sea, the development of trade routes is of particular importance," he said.
The issue of introducing a visa-free regime between the two countries was also discussed at the meeting.
"We believe that the introduction of such a regime will become the basis for the sustainable development of our relations in many areas," Murat Nurtleu said.
