ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 11. Kazakhstan's QazaqGaz national company has signed a new export contract with China, Sanzhar Zharkeshov, QazaqGaz CEO, said at the meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Trend reports.
Zharkeshov has not disclosed any details of the contract.
"Since the beginning of 2022, QazaqGaz has implemented investment projects worth 400 billion tenge ($862.3 million) in Atyrau and Mangystau regions, as well as in Almaty at its own expense," the CEO said.
He also reported on the implementation of the project of the second line of the Beineu – Bozoi – Shymkent gas pipeline.
At the same time, Zharkeshov noted that expanding the gas resource base: a new Anabai gas field will be launched by the end of 2023.
Meanwhile, earlier, it was reported that China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) may participate in the construction of the second branch of the Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent gas pipeline, with a capacity of 15 billion cubic meters annually.
In this regard, a joint working group comprising QazaqGaz national company and will be established, and a feasibility study and preliminary sources of project financing are expected to be determined by December 31.
Additionally, joint plans include the construction of a gas processing plant in Kashagan with a capacity of 4 billion cubic meters of gas per year. This matter will also be addressed by the joint working group of QazaqGaz and CNPC.
