ASTANA, Kazakhstan, September 20. Kenya Kazakh companies to actively invest in the Kenyan economy, including to consider the possibility of expanding the port of Mombasa by building a grain terminal, Trend reports.
This was stated during a meeting of Kenyan President William Ruto with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in New York.
During the meeting the sides discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic relations with Kenya.
Tokayev noted that Kenya is of particular interest for the development of cooperation as one of the prosperous countries on the African continent.
"I am following the development of your country, economic and foreign policy, and I am ready to make joint efforts to bring the Kazakh-Kenyan cooperation to a new level," he said.
Tokayev informed his Kenyan counterpart about the intention to send a trade mission to Kenya to explore potential opportunities to strengthen cooperation.
President of Kazakhstan invited William Ruto to visit Kazakhstan next year and take part in the upcoming Astana International Forum.
