Kazakhstan's KazTransOil installs 11 power plants with solar panels

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 4. Kazakhstan's KazTransOil JSC has commissioned 11 autonomous hybrid power generating units using solar energy, the company told Trend.

The work was carried out as part of the project for the reconstruction of overhead power lines of the Pavlodar - Shymkent main oil pipeline.

Thus, autonomous hybrid electric generating units are located at 1499.9–1572.1 km at 11 facilities (6 linear nodes and 5 cathodic protection stations) of the Pavlodar - Shymkent main oil pipeline. The length of this section is 72.2 km. The total electricity production per year of autonomous hybrid electric generator sets is 254,000 kW in an hour.

"Optimization of energy resources used is one of the key activities of KazTransOil JSC, within which the company pays special attention to improving the energy efficiency of production processes. KazTransOil JSC adheres to the concept of Kazakhstan’s transition to a "green" economy and creates all possible conditions for the implementation of state policy in this area," the company said.

Meanwhile, KazTransOil JSC is the national operator of the main oil pipeline. It is part of the KazMunayGas JSC (Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company) group.

KazTransOil JSC owns a diversified network of main oil pipelines 5,400 km in length.
