BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. Supplies of diesel fuel from Russia to Kyrgyzstan have declined, the executive director of the Association of Oil Traders of Kyrgyzstan Kanat Eshatov said, Trend reports with reference to the akchabar.kg.

He pointed out that a decrease in the amount of diesel fuel exports from Russian refineries to Kyrgyzstan is associated with a sharp rise in prices.

According to Kyrgyz oil traders, over the past month, wholesale prices for diesel fuel have doubled, and now are fixed at $600 per ton.

"In this regard, some Kyrgyz companies cannot conclude a contract for the diesel fuel supply, despite the fact that payments for fuel and lubricants have been made in rubles since March, the price is pegged to the US dollar," Eshatov emphasized.

Additionally, he underlined that oil traders of Kyrgyzstan approached the government with a request to convert mutual settlements into rubles at the end of February, when the dollar rose dramatically. But as a result of the ruble's apparent strengthening, the situation has now changed.
