BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 10. Kyrgyz imports of tomatoes from Turkmenistan increased from January through October 2022, Trend reports citing the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to statistics, Kyrgyzstan imported 13,357 tons of tomatoes from Turkmenistan in 10 months of 2022, which is an increase of 38.4 percent over the same period in 2021 (9,649 tons).
During the reporting period, the value of Turkmenistan's tomato exports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $7.4 million.
At the same time, Kyrgyzstan also imported 6,797 tons of tomatoes from Uzbekistan for almost $3 million.
Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan in the reporting period increased by 2.8 times compared to the same period in 2021 ($27.2 million) - up to $76 million.
