BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 24. The volume of cement supplies from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan decreased in 11 months of last year, Trend reports citing the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to statistics, Kyrgyzstan exported 587,785 tons of cement to Uzbekistan from January through November 2022, which is a decrease of 6.8 percent over the same period in 2021 (630,801 tons).
During the reporting period, the value of Kyrgyz cement exports to Uzbekistan has also decreased by 17.6 percent compared to 11 months of 2021 ($30 million) - to $24.7 million.
According to the data of the Anti-monopoly Agency, Kyrgyzstan's cement industry is represented by 7 cement plants. In September last year, it was announced that a new plant for the production of cement with a capacity of 1.5 million tons of cement per year will be built in the Chuy region of Kyrgyzstan.
