BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 14. The outflow of foreign direct investments from Kyrgyzstan made up $755.3 million in 2022, which is a decrease of 3.2 percent compared to 2021, Trend reports with reference to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

The main volume of foreign direct investment outflow, around 92 percent, was registered in the enterprises engaging in the fields of mining, proceeding, financial intermediation and insurance, as well as geological exploration.

A decline in the outflow of foreign direct investment in 2022 was registered in almost all over the country, except from Jalal-Abad region. Reportedly, the inflow of direct investments to the country exceeded the outflow by $290.8 million in the reporting period.

The outflow of the investments to the CIS (the Commonwealth of Independent States) countries decreased by 3.7 times, due to its reduction to Russia by 6.2 times, and Kazakhstan by 1.7 times.

At the same time, the investment outflow to the non-CIS countries increased by 10.6 times in the corresponding period over 2021. The largest increase of 207.7 times fell on Japan, following by the UAE - an increase of 10 times, and Türkiye - an increase of 3.7 times.

The inflow of foreign direct investments to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $1 billion in 2022, which is an increase of 4 percent compared to 2021.
