BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 12. An amount of barley and wheat exported from Russian Novosibirsk region to Kyrgyzstan from the beginning of 2023 has considerably increased, Trend reports via the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor).
A total of 2,100 tons of barley has been exported from Novosibirsk to Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of 2023, which is an increase of almost 10 times over 211 tons in the same period of 2022.
Meanwhile, the amount of wheat exported from Novosibirsk to Kyrgyzstan grew by 2.3 times year-on-year – from 21,200 tons to 50,680 tons.
In total, 65,388 tons of grain were exported from Novosibirsk region to Kyrgyzstan since the beginning of the year, which is by 86 percent exceeds the indicators of the corresponding period of 2022.
Furthermore, some 10,922 tons of peas and 1,686 tons of sunflower seeds were exported to Kyrgyzstan from the region during the period.
According to the Kyrgyz statistics, trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Russia amounted to $335.8 million, decreasing by 24 percent year-on-year ($441.5 million from January through February 2023).
The exports from Kyrgyzstan to Russia exceeded $79.6 million and accounted for 31.2 percent of Kyrgyz export. The value of the exports increased by 11 percent over the first two months of 2022 ($71.5 million).
The imports to Kyrgyzstan from Russia in the reporting period decreased by 30 percent year-on-year – from $369.9 million to $256.1 million in 2023, accounting for 17.5 percent of Kyrgyz imports.
