BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, July 7. "Zhar-Bashy" agricultural cooperative in the Chon-Alai district of the Osh region in Kyrgyzstan has increased sales through the assistance of equipment provided by the United States via the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) project "AgroSoda", Trend reports.
According to the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, the new equipment, valued at 4.3 million soms ($49,092), along with additional technical training, has enabled the cooperative to expand and improve its capacity for sorting and processing seed potatoes. Consequently, the quality of their products has been enhanced to meet the necessary export standards.
Moreover, Sultanaly Abduvaliev, the head of the "Zhar-Bashy" cooperative, highlighted the significance of having a seed calibration warehouse to ensure the purity and uniformity of seed fractions.
He noted that the warehouse plays a vital role in maintaining quality control and traceability throughout the production process. It facilitates the long-term and sustainable sale of high-quality seeds, expands market opportunities, and increases exports.
Additionally, the "AgroSoda" project contributed to the creation of 220 new jobs in the agricultural cooperative.
The USAID "AgroSoda" project in Kyrgyzstan focuses on increasing jobs and incomes by enhancing the competitiveness of Kyrgyz agricultural enterprises and expanding trade opportunities with Uzbekistan.
