BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 3. The primary country to which Kyrgyzstan exported its products outside the CIS (the Commonwealth of Independent States) from January through July 2023 was Switzerland, accounting for 23.4 percent of the country's total exports, Trend reports.
Data from the country’s State Statistical Committee indicates that following Switzerland, the main export destinations included Türkiye (5.9 percent of the total exports), the UAE (5.7 percent), China (2.4 percent), and Iran (0.9 percent).
Among the CIS countries, a significant portion of export deliveries fell on Russia (26.4 percent of the country's total exports), Kazakhstan (17.1 percent), and Uzbekistan (8.5 percent).
Kyrgyzstan's exports amounted to $1.602 billion from January through July 2023, which is a 45.6-percent year-on-year increase. This growth can be attributed to increasing exports, primarily to countries outside the CIS, which grew by 2.9 times.
Kyrgyzstan's imports totaled $6.551 billion, increasing 29.4 percent year-on-year. The growth was driven by increased imports from countries outside the CIS, which rose by 1.6 times.
The volume of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover reached $8.153 billion from January through July 2023, which is a 32.3 percent year-on-year increase.
