EBRD unveils details on current loan portfolio in Kyrgyzstan

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 7. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development's (EBRD) current loan portfolio in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 225 million euros as of January 31, 2024, Trend reports.

According to the bank, the loan portfolio was earmarked for the completion of 78 active projects. Among these projects, the majority of funding, 78 percent, or 176 million euros, was directed towards sustainable infrastructure.

Additionally, 12 percent, equivalent to 27 million euros, was allocated to financial institutions, and the remaining 10 percent, amounting to 22 million euros, was designated for industry, commerce, and agriculture.

In total, the EBRD's cumulative investments in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 960 million euros across 238 projects as of January 31, 2024.

Furthermore, the share of the private sector in the entire investment portfolio of the bank in Kyrgyzstan was 22 percent.
