(dpa)- Tajikistan's President Tajik Imomali Rakhmonov arrived Saturday in Tehran for a two-day state-visit, Iran's official official IRNA news agency reported.

Rakhmonov is scheduled to meet with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and probably also with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

On the agenda are implementation of joint development projects,

especially construction of Sangtoudeh-2 power plant in southern Tajikistan, IRNA said.

Tehran has last week upgraded its diplomatic relations with Dushanbe to ambassador-level after 16 months when Iran's embassy was managed by just a caretaker.
