Employees of the Interior Ministry of Tajikistan detained a suspect in murder of a relative of the country's president, Interior Ministry's representative told RIA Novosti on Monday.
According to the source, a suspect was determined and detained "during search operations on investigation of the murder of Director of the State Agency for Forestry and Hunting Committee on Environmental Protection, 57-year-old Kholmumin Safarov" on July 14.
Safarov was spouse of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon's younger sister. Unknown persons shot dead him near his house on June 13. Safarov died at the scene of his wounds in his head, chest and stomach.
"Operational and investigative operations are underway to detain those involved in this crime," - the Interior Ministry said.
