Number of labor migrants from Turkey in Turkmenistan decreases

Trend:

The number of job seekers from Turkey in Turkmenistan notably decreased in the past 11 months of 2020, the Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR) told Trend on Dec.14.

During the reporting period, the number of Turkish citizens who visited Turkmenistan through ISKUR to find work decreased by 21.8 percent compared to the same period in 2019.

In total, 151 Turkish citizens visited the country via ISKUR from January through November this year.

Meanwhile, 10,138 Turkish citizens went abroad via ISKUR, which is 46.7 percent less compared to the same period in 2019.

In November 2020, 85,240 citizens were provided with jobs through this agency in Turkey. Some 31.1 percent of the total number of employed citizens accounted for women and 66.9 percent for men.

Over the reporting month, 97.7 percent of the total number of citizens provided with jobs accounted for the private sector. The number of unemployed in Turkey amounted to over 3 million people, 47.5 percent of whom are women, and 52.5 percent are men.
