BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 25. An independent organization that defines the requirements for voluntary certification of agricultural products worldwide - GLOBAL G.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practices), intends to cooperate with Turkmenistan in the field of aquaculture, the organization's Technical Key Account Manager Central Asia and Latvia Edite Strazdina told Trend.

"At the moment, we want to specifically consider cooperation with Turkmenistan in the field of aquaculture. Furthermore, it is planned to train our new version of the flagship standard GLOBAL G.A.P. Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) v6 and implement our Chain of Custody standards (CoC)," she said.

According to her, GLOBAL G.A.P. would like to further develop fruitful cooperation with Turkmenistan.

"At the same time, a National Technical Working Group (NTWG) on GLOBAL G.A.P. will be established in Turkmenistan in order to ensure that relevant local requirements are taken into account during certification. This is an important basis for ensuring the successful implementation of standards in the country," the technical manager noted.

The Global G.A.P. Certification program affects all stages of production, starting with feed or seed material and ending with finished products manufactured by agricultural enterprises.
