The meeting of the Consul General of Turkmenistan in Kazan (Tatarstan) Guych Garayev with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Marat Zyabbarov took place, Trend reports with reference to the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Kazan.
During the meeting held in Kazan city, the parties discussed issues related to the progress and prospects of cooperation in the field of agriculture, food, agro-industry, crop production, and animal husbandry.
Zyabbarov informed about Tatarstan's interest in increasing the export of agricultural products to Turkmenistan, and also added that the region is ready to supply products such as grain, sunflower oil, sugar, baby food, dairy products, including milk powder, cheeses, etc. to Turkmenistan.
In turn, Garayev familiarized himself with the export opportunities of Turkmenistan in the field of agriculture and noted the expediency of further expansion of cooperation in this area.
He also informed about the planned meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Tatarstan Working Group on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation in March 2023. In this regard, it was noted that it would be advisable to organize an exhibition of agricultural products of the parties within the framework of this event.
At the moment, Turkmenistan and Russia's Tatarstan are striving to actively develop comprehensive economic cooperation and implement new joint projects. Thus, the Chairman of the upper house of the Parliament of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov met with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit on January 19, 2023.
