BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 13. Turkmenistan and USAID discussed the state and prospects of cooperation in promoting regional and national projects, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
These issues were discussed during the meeting of Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev with Deputy Assistant Administrator of the Bureau for Asia of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Änjali Kaur, who is on a working visit to Ashgabat.
Hajiyev noted that Turkmenistan's long-term cooperation with the agency includes a number of joint projects in the field of trade and economic development, education, healthcare, public administration, legislative and legal sphere, social sector, agro-industrial complex, etc.
At the same time, the diplomats discussed the issues currently on the bilateral agenda, and also discussed the tasks facing the working group on assessment and reduction of methane emissions created by Turkmenistan jointly with USAID.
The sides also exchanged views on issues of advisory and technical support through USAID related to Turkmenistan's accession to the WTO, and also expressed a common idea regarding the priority of such areas as digitalization and low-carbon energy development.
