BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. Businessmen from the British Virgin Islands bought a large batch of jet fuel from Turkmenistan, Trend reports.
Businessmen from the British Virgin Islands purchased a total of 9,000 tons of jet fuel from Turkmenistan, the cost of which was estimated at $663.5 per ton. The total amount of transactions for the sale of jet fuel amounted to $5.9 million.
Furthermore, entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan purchased 300 tons of polypropylene from Turkmenistan for a total of $309,900 ($1,033 per ton).
Turkmenistan is located in Central Asia and has significant reserves of oil and gas, which are used for the production of various types of fuel. The production and export of jet fuel in Turkmenistan are important aspects of the development of the energy industry in this country.
The State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important body of state regulation of export-import operations.
