ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 24. Turkmenistan has sold a large batch of urea to businessmen from the UAE and Afghanistan on its commodity exchange.
According to official data, Turkmenistan has sold 16,000 tons of urea to entrepreneurs from the UAE and Afghanistan. The total amount of the transaction was $3.9 million.
Furthermore, Turkmenistan sold 14,000 tons of urea to other business representatives from the UAE for a total of $3.4 million.
The contract for the purchase of these volumes of urea was concluded with Turkmenistan's Turkmenhimiya State Concern.
The main producers of urea in Turkmenistan are the Garabogazkarbamid and Tejenkarbamid plants.
The Garabogazkarbamid plant is the largest in Central Asia and is designed to manufacture 1.15 million tons of fertilizer per year.
