Eurostat notes increase in trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Germany

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 1. The bilateral trade between Turkmenistan and Germany surpassed 141.24 million euros from January through August of this year, reflecting an ongoing expansion in economic exchanges and collaborations between the two nations, a source at Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, told Trend.

These statistics demonstrate a 1.5 percent rise compared to the trade turnover recorded in the corresponding period of the preceding year, which totaled 140.4 million euros.

The value of Turkmenistan's exports to Germany stood at nearly 4.71 million euros from January through August 2023, indicating a substantial decline of 6.2 times compared to the corresponding months in 2022, during which it reached 29.21 million euros.

Simultaneously, Turkmenistan experienced a 22.8-percent growth in its imports from Germany during the initial eight months of 2023 in contrast to the equivalent period in 2022, amounting to 136.53 million euros, up from 111.19 million euros.

Meanwhile, the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Germany for the whole of 2022 amounted to 241.3 million euros, which is a significant increase of 32 percent compared to the trade turnover in 2021, which amounted to 182.74 million euros.
