Turkmen and Afghan companies forge major business agreements

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 6. One memorandum and 16 agreements between Turkmen and Afghan private companies were signed at the Turkmen-Afghan Business Forum, which was held in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, on March 4–5, Trend reports.

According to official data, the total number of export contracts at this business forum amounted to more than $7.72 million.

Half of these deals were concluded for the sale of confectionery products of such Turkmen brands as 'Hasar', 'Owadan ülke', 'Altyn şöhle', 'Täze aý' and 'Asuda ülkäm'.

Furthermore, other commodity items include polypropylene bags and motor oils, mung bean, wool, multifilament polypropylene yarns, etc.

The sellers were nine Turkmen companies - members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, and the buyers were 11 Afghan companies.

Meanwhile, the Turkmen - Afghan Business Forum and an exhibition of products from Afghan manufacturers are taking place in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat city.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan notes that this exhibition will be of great importance for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, increasing trade turnover, and developing business cooperation with Afghan companies.
