ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 15. Central Asian countries and South Korea put their heads together to tackle climate change mitigation during the second meeting of parliamentary speakers in Turkmenistan's Ashgabat, where they were all on the same page in the C5+1 format, Trend reports via Turkmenistan's official media.
Participants in the plenary session emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation as a means to enhance communication and collaboration among the states. Joint efforts to accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were also stressed by both sides throughout the meetings.
The meeting rolled on in two parts. The first one was all about joining forces in economic cooperation, diving into the digital economy, and rolling up our sleeves in industry, while the second one turned its attention to tackling climate change and paving the way for sustainable development.
Moreover, the participants chewed the fat about the bright prospects for swapping experiences in legal regulation, backing up parliamentary friendship groups, and fine-tuning legislative mechanisms to foster closer ties between countries.
The meeting bore fruit with the signing of a joint declaration, showcasing the willingness of the Central Asian states and South Korea to roll up their sleeves and deepen partnerships in ecology, economy, and inter-parliamentary cooperation.
