Volume of money transfers between Uzbekistan and Russia increases by 21 percent

The total amount of money transfers between Uzbekistan and Russia among individuals increased by 20.95 per cent in the second quarter of 2012 compared to the second quarter of last year - to $1.38 billion, the Central Bank of Russia said on Saturday.

The total amount of money transfers between Uzbekistan and Russia among individuals increased by 20.95 per cent in the second quarter of 2012 compared to the second quarter of last year - to $1.38 billion, the Central Bank of Russia said on Saturday.

In particular, the volume of money transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan in April - June increased by 15.94 percent - up to $1.237 billion, from Uzbekistan to Russia - by 42.67 percent, to $107 million.

The average amount of one transaction from Russia to Uzbekistan has decreased by $4.24 percent to $542 over this period, from Uzbekistan to Russia - increased by 15.93 percent to $1.834 thousand.

Uzbekistan remains the leader among the CIS countries in terms of remittances from Russia among individuals; it's followed by Tajikistan ($916 million), and Ukraine ($711 million)

The total amount of transfers between Uzbekistan and Russia increased by 45.5 percent to $908 million during the first quarter. The volume of money transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan increased by 46.6 percent in January - March to $824 million, from Uzbekistan to Russia - by 37.1 per cent to $85 million.

According to the Central Bank of Russia, the volume of money transfers from Russia to Uzbekistan increased by 49.8 percent to $4.262 billion in 2011, $3.166 billion was sent to Tajikistan compared to $2.216 billion a year earlier, Ukraine - 2.607 billion (1.809 billion dollars in 2010).

The Central Bank of Russia said data covers such systems as Anelik, BLIZKO, Coinstar Money Transfer, Contact, InterExpress, Migom, MoneyGram, PrivatMoney, UNIStream, Western Union, AziyaEkspress, Allure, Blitz, Fast Mail, Gold Crown, LEADER and Russia Post.
