The Malaysian Apollo Rubber expressed interest in considering the possibility of implementing an investment project for the production of latex and nitrile gloves together with potential Uzbek enterprises, Trend reports citing Dunyo news agency.

Uzbek diplomats visited the production facilities of the Malaysian Apollo Rubber and discussed the prospects for further development of bilateral mutually beneficial investment cooperation with the director of the company Lakshman Vaidhyanathan.

The Malaysian side was provided with detailed information on the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan aimed at improving the business environment, creating favorable conditions for doing business, developing digitalization at all stages of the provision of public services, as well as free economic zones created in the country.

It was noted that the Malaysian side expressed interest in considering the possibility of implementing an investment project for the production of latex and nitrile gloves together with potential Uzbek enterprises, including through the transfer of appropriate industrial technology in the form of investments to the Apollo Rubber company.

The Director of Apollo Rubber emphasized that the growing global demand for the above products due to the coronavirus pandemic will contribute to the creation of export-oriented production in Uzbekistan, which will undoubtedly open up new opportunities for the Malaysian side to enter the markets of Central Asian countries.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed on establishing partnership relations between the Apollo Rubber company and Uzbek enterprises to study and discuss in detail the implementation of this investment project.

Founded in 1988, Apollo Rubber is headquartered in the Malaysian state of Selangor and manufactures latex and nitrile gloves, including those for medical use. The products manufactured by the company are exported to the markets of Southeast Asia, Europe, and Africa.
