The volume of footwear exported from Uzbekistan from January through June 2021 reduced by 21.22 percent, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the committee, during the reporting period, Uzbekistan exported footwear worth $14.1 million.
It is reported that the main sales market for Uzbekistan footwear abroad is Kyrgyzstan. More than half of the total volume ($8.1 million) of Uzbek footwear was sent to this country. It is followed by Kazakhstan which imported footwear worth $3.3 million and Tajikistan - $1.9 million.
At the same time, Russia and Afghanistan imported footwear from Uzbekistan worth $335,300 and $295,600 respectively.
The committee notes that the Samarkand region became the leader in the export of footwear - $5.1 million, followed by the Andijan region - $3.5 million, the Fergana region - $3.5 million, and the Tashkent region - $590,600.
Earlier it was reported that in the first half of the year, exports from Uzbekistan reached $5.9 billion, which is more than 48 percent ($1.5 billion).
It was noted that the main share in exports was taken by textiles - $1.5 billion, base metals - $761 million, products of plant origin - $495 million. At the same time, due to the coronavirus pandemic, exports of transport services decreased and amounted to $745 million.
Compared to the same period last year, imports of goods increased by 24 percent or by $2 billion and amounted to $10.6 billion. The main share of imports was occupied by cars - $3 billion, base metals - $1.5 billion, chemical products - $1.3 billion.
