Uzbekistan reveals total assets and capital of its banks for 4M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2. The total assets of banks in Uzbekistan amounted to 470 trillion soums ($42.6 billion) from January through April 2022, which is an increase of 22.6 percent compared to the same period last year (383.3 trillion soums or $34.7 billion), Trend reports via the Uzbek Central Bank.

From January through April 2022, state-owned banks’ assets accounted for 378.8 trillion soums ($34.3 billion), while private banks’ assets accounted for 91.2 trillion soums ($8.3 billion).

The capital of banks in Uzbekistan during this period also increased by 20.4 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 (60.9 trillion soums, or $5.5 billion), reaching 73.3 trillion soums ($6.6 billion).

During this period, the capital of state banks amounted to 59.3 trillion soums ($5.4 billion).At the same time, the capital of private banks reached 14 trillion soums ($1.3 billion).
