BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 31. Russia was Uzbekistan's main trade partner from January through February 2023, Trend reports citing the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
According to the statistics, the trade turnover between the countries in the reporting period increased by 15.1 percent and amounted to $1.4 billion over $1.2 billion during the same period in 2022.
During the reporting period, Uzbekistan’s exports to Russia made up $454 million, increasing by 30.3 percent over 2M2022 ($348.2 million), while imports amounted to $996.1 million.
From January through February 2023, Russia imported from Uzbekistan some 29,200 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $31.8 million, and textile products worth $219.8 million, etc.
In 2022, the trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia amounted to $9.2 billion, increasing by 22.9 percent year-on-year ($7.5 billion in 2021).
During this period, Russia imported from Uzbekistan carpets worth $4 million, textile products worth $1.2 billion, about 541,900 tons of fruit and vegetables worth $486.7 million, 146,700 TVs, 105,300 refrigerators, 547,400 pairs of footwear, 41,100 washing machines, etc.
