BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 7. The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan has held a ceremony to sign a contract for the supply of Huawei inverters for the implementation of renewable energy projects in the country, Trend reports.
The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where an agreement was signed between Yashil Energiya LLC and Huawei for the supply of inverters for the implementation and development of renewable energy projects in the country. Deputy Minister of Energy, Akmal Jumanazarov, and Vice President for the Middle East and Central Asia region at Huawei, Wang Shunli, participated in the ceremony and discussed plans to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
"Huawei has strengthened its cooperation with ecosystem partners and regulators in the energy sector since the beginning of this year. Representatives of the Ministry of Energy delegation were given a tour of the company's showroom at the headquarters in China and were introduced to the production capacity of the solar technology plant. During the Uzbek-Chinese business forum in Xi'an, a memorandum was signed with the Ministry, outlining further actions to expand the implementation of Huawei's solutions in Uzbekistan. Today's signing of the contract marks another milestone in accelerating the country's transition to carbon neutrality," said Chen Jiakai, Director of Huawei in Uzbekistan.
The solutions provided by Huawei's Digital Power division have been applied for several years in projects implementing photovoltaic technologies for large-scale industrial power plants, the commercial and industrial sectors, as well as residential solar power plants in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Huawei inverters were also showcased at the Uzbek-Chinese Achievements Exhibition in Xi'an on May 19, 2023, at the Ministry of Energy's booth as an example of successful collaboration between the two parties.
In January 2023, a delegation from the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan visited Huawei's headquarters, where they familiarized themselves with the production capacity of the Huawei Digital Power plant. Since 2021, Huawei's Digital Power division has been focusing on areas such as clean energy production, electrification of transportation, and the construction of green ICT infrastructure. By the end of 2022, Huawei helped its customers generate over 695.1 billion kWh of green energy and reduce energy consumption by 19.5 billion kWh, which is equivalent to preventing nearly 340 million tons of CO2 emissions.
