Uzbekistan, Switzerland agree to boost economic co-op in various fields

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 8. Uzbekistan and Switzerland have agreed to promote cooperation in a number of spheres, Trend reports.

The issue was discussed during the meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland Ignazio Cassis, who was on a visit to Uzbekistan.

"We discussed a wide range of issues on our comprehensive bilateral agenda, from politics to tourism, and identified priority tasks for the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Switzerland aimed at strengthening the close Uzbek-Swiss ties. We express sincere gratitude for his interest in Uzbekistan's centuries-old history, continuous support for reforms for sustainable development of the country, and readiness to expand cooperation in education, healthcare, green technologies, trade, and more," Kamilov wrote on his social media account.

Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland Ignazio Cassis arrived in Uzbekistan on July 5 with an official visit. His trip began with a visit to the sites of bilateral cooperation in the Samarkand region. In Tashkent, the Swiss delegation held bilateral meetings and negotiations with the government, ministries, and agencies of Uzbekistan.
