Supreme National Security Council: 'Iran to launch centrifuge brand'
Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council says Iran will manufacture Iranian brand centrifuges to show the country's scientific progress despite sanctions, Press TV reported.
Speaking at a gathering in the central city of Qom, Ali Baqeri said on Friday that "despite all restrictions and enemy threats Iran's progress has been considerable."
"Today, the Islamic Republic is after producing centrifuges with Iranian brand names and one can even say that nuclear technology is a completely indigenous science in the country," he added.
Baqeri said that the three rounds of multifaceted talks between Iran and the P5+1 -- Britain, China, France, Russia and the US plus Germany-- in Geneva were successful.
"In the first round of the Geneva talks, the other side (P5+1) was trying to suspend Iran's activities, but they talked about freezing activities which means not increasing activities in the second round."
"In the third round [of talks] held in Geneva on December 6 and 7, they were only focusing raising the topic of Iran's nuclear activities. It is a victory for Iran that the arrogant Westerners have retreated from their high demands and are [now] content with minimum," Baqeri added.
The next round of multifaceted talks between Iran and the P5+1 will be held in the Turkish city of Istanbul on January 21 and 22.
