BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 28. Masoud Pezeshkian has been officially confirmed as the new President of Iran by the country's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Trend reports.
The confirmation ceremony commenced with a speech by Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi, who provided an overview of the early presidential election. Vahidi expressed his gratitude to the Iranian people and the department's employees for their efforts in successfully organizing the electoral process.
Following this, Ayatollah Khamenei announced the decree officially designating Pezeshkian as the ninth president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Pezeshkian is set to take the oath of office on July 30 in the Majlis, Iran's parliament.
