EU leader arrives in Tehran

One of the EU leaders Xavier Solana arrives in Tehran tonight, with a proposals package to persuade Iran to freeze its nuclear program. Rend reports with reference to Voice of Russia that the said package was approved June 1 at the meeting of five permanent members of UN Security Council and Germany in Vienna. Russian FM Sergey Lavrov called Tehran to respond the proposals constructively. The package also includes some punishment for the case Iran refuses to freeze uranium enrichment. One of the initiatives within the package was disclosed Monday by US government, it stipulates canceling long-term economic sanction against Iran. Meanwhile, Iranians said they wouldnt dispute their right for uranium enrichment for industrial purposes and threatened to block main oil lines in Persian Gulf in the event of military operations.
