Iran' ambassador to Spain stresses Iran's peaceful nuclear program

(IRNA) - Iranian ambassador to Spain Davood Salehi said here on Tuesday that the world should count on Iran's civilian nuclear program, reports Trend.

"We are now in the best condition in terms of nuclear technology and make use of uranium enrichment technology for peaceful purposes," said Salehi in an address to a group of Iranians residing in Madrid.

Speaking on the occasion of the Muslim feast of Eid-ul-Fitr, marking end of the holy month of Ramadhan, Salehi said, "Our uranium enrichment technology for peaceful purposes is comparable with the world's most sophisticated technologies."

He added that Iran has the first say in the world in terms of nuclear medicine, biotechnology and different scientific courses.

Iran's ambassador to Spain said the country owes its success to the hard endeavors of its citizens and their attention to the Islamic injunctions, including lessons of Ramadhan. "Such people do not fear any sanctions threat."

Salehi addressed Iran's enemies: "Do not threaten us by sanctions or war. Iranians showed that they can resist against enemies and all-out embargoes, as was evident

during the eight-year Iraqi imposed."

Iran's enemies should know gone is the era of the Russian, British and the US embassies' deciding for the Iranian people, said the official, noting that Iran will continue its path towards progress and sovereignty.

The Islamic Republic is today independent and strongly determined to attain development in all spheres, the official added.

Congregational prayers and celebrations were part of the Eid-ul-Fitr ceremonies at the mosque of Iranian Embassy in Madrid, where a group of Iranians had taken part.
