(Civil) - Turkish National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul has left for the United States for an official visit.
Defense Minister Gonul and the accompanying delegation left Istanbul Ataturk Airport at 11.20 on a Turkish Airlines flight to New York, reports Trend.
Gonul will participate in the signing ceremony of Joint Striker Fighter (JSF) Project between Turkey and the US. The ceremony will be held at the US Department of Defense in Washington.
On Friday, Gonul will meet his American counterpart Robert Michael Gates.
Following the completion of his meetings in the US, Gonul will return home on Monday.
