Iran’s crude oil production reached 3.629 million barrels per day (mb/d) in July, about 12,500 b/d more compared to June, OPEC said in a monthly report published Aug. 10.
According to the report, Iran’s July oil output was 0.79 mb/d more than the 2015 average and 0.85 more than the 2014 output.
The Islamic Republic’s oil output was 3.62 mb/d in July, according to an OPEC report based on direct communications, indicating a 9,000-barrel difference between OPEC's estimates and Iran’s data.
According to secondary sources, OPEC’s total oil output increased significantly last month by 46,400 b/d to 33.106 mb/d, month-to-month. The Islamic Republic ranked the third among OPEC countries, after Saudi Arabia and Iraq, based on secondary sources.
Iran stood at the third place in an OPEC report on oil production in 2012, after Saudi Arabia and Iraq. However, in 2013, it fell to the fifth spot. In 2014 and 2015 Iran was OPEC’s fourth oil supplier.
Iran’s Heavy oil was sold at $41.59 per barrel last month, about $3.09 less than in June, the report said.
Compared to the previous year, Iran’s Heavy oil value declined by $18.54, to $35.74 per barrel.
Iran’s active rigs were estimated at 57 in July, the same as in previous months of 2016, however exceeding the country’s active rigs in 2015 by four.
