Minister discloses amount of foreign investments approved in Iran

The amount of foreign investments worth $3.5-4 billion to be made in Iran has been approved within three months (March 21-June 21) of this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019), Iranian Finance and Economic Affairs Minister Farhad Dejpasand said at the press-conference held in the Iranian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

The amount of foreign investments worth $1.7 billion was approved in the first half of last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), he stressed.

Dejpasand added that the loans worth more than $250,000 are planned to be issued to attract investors.

The amount of foreign investments to Iran is expected to increase this Iranian year, he said.

The Iranian minister said that the export of non-oil items slightly decreased last Iranian year (started on March 21, 2018) despite all the pressure.

The export of non-oil items is at the satisfactory level during three months of this Iranian year, Dejpasand said.

He said that 1.09 quadrillion rials (about $25 billion) accounted for tax revenues last Iranian year.

Iran exported 117.2 million tons of products including gas condensate worth $44.31 billion from March 21, 2018 to March 20, 2019.

The export of products decreased by 12 percent in terms of weight and by 5.7 percent in terms of value from March 21, 2018 to March 20, 2019 compared to the same period of last Iranian year.

During the reporting period, Iran imported 32 million tons of products worth $42.6 billion.

The import of products has decreased by 17.5 percent in terms of weight and by 21.75 percent in terms of value.
