Iran's foreign exchange needs trigger to expand exports

TEHRAN, Iran, Oct. 23

Iran seeks to obtain country's foreign exchange needs through expanding the volume of exports, up to $45 billion, said the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Fatemi Amin made the remark on the sidelines of the exporters' meeting with Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi.

The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has unveiled its export-related goal for the second half of the current Iranian year (started on March 21) - to make Iran increase its export value by $5 billion more, compared to the first six months of the current Iranian year, Fatemi Amin said.

He noted that the ministry has identified and removed about 26 obstacles for exports.

He predicted the country will reach over $40 billion in exports by the end of the year.

Fatemi Amin also said Iran plans to include exports of knowledge-based products.
