BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 26. The production potential of Iran's four gas fields will increase by 154 million cubic meters per day within 3 years (March 20, 2027), executive director of Iranian oil and gas company Pars Mohammad Hossein Motejali said, Trend reports.
According to Motejali, four gas fields are Kish, North Pars, Bilal, and Farzad.
Motejali further stated that the North Pars gas field's production potential will be increased to 28 million cubic meters per day, as will the Farzad B gas field's production potential and the Kish gas field's production capacity. will expand to 84 million cubic meters, while the Bilal gas field's production capacity would rise to 14 million cubic meters per day.
Iran's North Pars gas field lies 120 kilometers southeast of Bushehr port in Bushehr Province. The field was discovered in 1965. So far, 17 gas wells have been drilled in the field, with 26 platforms built. The field holds 1.66 trillion cubic meters of gas. This allows for the production of 1.34 billion cubic meters. According to study, if this field were developed, it could generate 4 billion cubic feet (113 million cubic meters) of rich gas per day and 20 million tons of LNG per year. Iran intends to spend $4 billion to develop this field.
Meanwhile, the Farzad B gas field is one of the joint fields of Iran and Saudi Arabia and is located 20 kilometers from Farsi Island.
A contract was signed today between Iran's National Oil Company and Iranian Petropars for the development of the Farzad B gas field. It should be noted that on February 4, 2023, Iranian oil and gas company Pars and Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company) signed an agreement for the development of the 1st phase of the Kish gas field in the Persian Gulf in Hormozgan province in southern Iran. Under the contract, $900 million will be spent, and 14 wells will be drilled and completed by the National Drilling Company.
According to the contract, this field will generate 28 million
cubic meters of gas and 11,000 barrels of gas condensate per day,
which will be transferred to processing units in the Asaluyeh area
once development is completed in 14 months.
However, the Pars Oil and Gas Company has contracted with Iran's
Petropars to develop Iran's Bilal gas field (2019). The contract
calls for the construction and installation of a field platform,
pipelines, and the drilling of eight wells. The plan is to produce
500 million cubic feet (14 million cubic meters) of gas per day
from this field.
