BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 6. Exports of non-oil products from Kaveh Special Economic Zone, in Iran's central province, increased by 13 percent in value terms and 11 percent in weight terms in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), the head of Iran's customs department located in Kaveh Special Economic Zone, Qassem Motallebi said, Trend reports.
According to him, 1.12 million tons of non-oil products worth $1.9 billion were exported from the Kaveh Special Economic Zone last year.
Motallebi added that glass, ceramics, health products, and foodstuffs were mainly exported last Iranian year.
The official stated that 264,000 tons of products worth $685 million were imported to the Kaveh Special Economic Zone last Iranian year. The import of products increased by 37 percent in value and 69 percent in weight compared to the previous year.
He said that last year, the special economic zone imported equipment, raw materials, and other things for production.
To note, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, last year's exports of non-oil products amounted to more than 136 million tons worth $49.3 billion. Iran's exports of non-oil products decreased by 8.87 percent in value terms and increased by 9.82 percent in weight terms compared to the previous year.
Meanwhile, according to the statistics of Iran's Customs Administration, last year's imports of products to the country amounted to 39 million tons worth about $66.3 billion. The import of products increased by 9.77 percent in value and 4.39 percent in weight compared to the previous year.
