Ahmet Davutoglu says Iran has the right to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, Press TV reported.
Turkey believes Iran has equal rights with all other countries to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes," Davutoglu said at a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki in Ankara on Wednesday.
The Turkish official further pointed out that his country's policy regarding nuclear programs was clear: "Turkey attaches importance to purifying our region from nuclear weapons."
Davutoglu also said that the only way to solve all disputed matters should be diplomacy.
Mottaki and Davutoglu discussed Iran's nuclear program and other issues concerning the two countries, including the latest regional developments.
The Iranian foreign minister met with Turkish State Minister
Cevdet Yilmaz earlier in the day.
