Areg Gevorgyan, Sahak Muradyan and David Kiramijyan, three active members of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC), have been charged with hooliganism,Tert.am.

The relevant article of Armenia's criminal code envisages one to three years of corrective labor or imprisonment for up to five years.
Talking to Tert.am, the young activists' lawyer Hovik Arsenyan said that he is going to apply to the Court of Appeal for mitigating the preventive punishment, three-month detention, imposed on Tigran Arakelyan, Sargis Gevorgyan and Artak Karapetyan. The lawyer will try to get the three released on bail.

Areg Gevorgyan, Sahak Muradyan and David Kiramijyan were detained on Aug. 9 and released three days later. Vahagn Gevorgyan was released after he signed a pledged not to leave Yerevan the three other ANC members, Tigran Arakelyan, Artak Karapetyan and Sergo Gevoryan were detained for two months. Law-enforcers initiated criminal proceedings on the relevant articles Armenia's criminal code (hooliganism, violence against public agent).
