Georgia holds a lead position due to the number of complaints submitted to the European Court of Human Rights.

Georgian NGOs reported that the country ranks seventh after Russia, Turkey, Romania, Poland, Ukraine and Moldova.

As of January 2012, about 4050 cases were submitted to the Strasbourg Court against Georgia. About 1500 cases were not taken into consideration.
