Ministerial salaries in Georgia reduced by 12 per cent
Georgia, Tbilisi, March 13 / Trend N.Kirtskhalia /
Salaries of members of the Georgian government are being reduced by 12 per cent.
According to a decision by Georgia's Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, fewer funds will be allocated from the state budget for ministerial salaries compared to previous years and these figures will be completely transparent to the public.
The government has also abandoned the previous government's practice whereby ministers gave bonuses to themselves on a monthly, or even more frequent basis.
From now on, monthly ministerial salaries in Georgia will amount to 6300 lari ($1 =1.66 lari). They will receive premiums once a year.
