Georgia reveals proposals for ministries' salary changes in 2022 state budget

The changes in the Georgia's state budget for 2022 envisage the change in salaries for certain ministries, as well as in number of employees, Trend reports via Georgian media.

The proposals for the 2022 budget below are subject to change, before the final approval.

The proposed changes:

The Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs – salaries should increase to 43.8 million Georgian lari ($14 million), compared to 41 million Georgian lari ($13.1 million) in 2021.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs – salaries should be raised to 10.9 million Georgian lari ($3.4 million), compared to 9.4 million Georgian lari ($3 million) in 2021.

The Ministry of Defense – salaries should increase to 432.3 million Georgian lari ($138.5 million), compared to 426.1 million Georgian lari ($136.5 million) in 2021.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs – salaries should increase to 531 million Georgian lari ($170.1 million), compared to 525.2 million Georgian lari ($168.3 million) in 2021.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth – the number of employees is to be reduced from 6,916 to 6,901; salary payments should increase to 65.4 million Georgian lari ($20.9 million).

The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development – the number of employees should be reduced from 540 to 524; salary payments should be increased to 13.2 million Georgian lari ($4.2 million).

The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure – the number of employees should be reduced from 324 to 318; salaries should increase from 8.9 million Georgian lari ($2.8) to 10.5 million Georgian lari ($3.3 million).
