( dpa ) - Swedish Crown Princess Victoria was Wednesday to begin a visit to Dubai that included inaugurating an exhibition on industrialist Alfred Nobel, the palace said Tuesday.
During a visit lasting until Tuesday, the 30-year-old heir to the Swedish throne was also to meet with Swedish business executives and lay the cornerstone at a future plant for truck-maker Scania.
The new exhibition, Alfred Nobel - Networks of Innovation, outlines how Nobel, the inventor of dynamite, came up with the idea of endowing the prizes awarded for medicine, physics, chemistry, literature and peace.
The award ceremony is traditionally held December 10, the anniversary of Nobel's 1896 death in San Remo, Italy.
