Three personnel of the U.S.-led Coalition forces were killed in south Afghanistan, a press release of the alliance said Saturday, Xinhua reported.
"Three coalition service members died of wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device during a combat reconnaissance patrol in the Uruzgan province Friday," the press release added.
However, it did not identify the nationality and position of the victims, adding the name and nationalities of service members are being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
Troops from Netherlands, Australia and the United States have been serving in the Uruzgan province to strengthen security in the former hotbed of Taliban militants.
